A Host/Hostess is responsible for positive first impressions of Don's Seafood's exceptional service, high standards, and friendly atmosphere.
The Host/Hostess will welcome Guests upon arrival, inform Guests of their wait time, monitor Guest waiting/reservation list, manage the Server's seating rotation, escort Guests to a table that is suitable for their needs, and thank Guests as they depart.
A Host/Hostess must be able to naturally engage with Guests by carrying on unscripted conversations that make Guests feel at home.
As an essential part of our team, the Host/Hostess answers all phone calls respectfully, enters take-out orders into the Point-of-Sale system and tends to Guests' needs.
Additionally, the Host/Hostess performs minor cleaning duties such as pre-bussing tables, stocking restrooms, sanitizing menus, and maintaining lobby organization.
Responsibilities:
Greet incoming and departing Guests with a warm, genuine smile Escort Guests to their designated table, present restaurant menus, and inform the Guests of who will be their Server Manage the flow of Guests into the Dining and Bar area Monitor the waiting/reservations list, providing accurate wait times Answer all incoming phone calls with a friendly attitude Answer any questions from Guests regarding menu items, cocktails, and events Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming lobby experience Inform Guests of current specials, seasonal promotions, and upcoming events Observe Guests throughout their dining experience; assist when needed; ensure they receive the highest quality of service Input Go-To order into the Point-of-Sale system; receive payments; calculate and deliver accurate change; prepare requested condiments for Guests' take-out order Reconcile cash drawer
Qualifications:
Must be able to communicate clear and confident greetings/farewells to Guests Ability to handle money accurately and operate a point-of-sale system Must be professional with a customer-oriented approach Positive interpersonal skills required Must be able to stand, walk, and carry supplies during the entire shift Ability to hear well in a noisy environment to answer and respond to Guests' needs over the telephone Excellent communication skills, including great phone etiquette, required Ability to multi-task under pressure Must be thoroughly attentive to cleanliness and safety At least six months of experience working in a full-service restaurant preferred Responsible, trustworthy, and friendly character required A high school diploma is a plus but not required Job Types:
